To complement our huge selection in freshwater fish and plants, we have dedicated our downstairs tanks to Reef Inhabitants. Many of the same principles of the planted aquarium which we have been advocates of from the beginning translate very well to reef keeping. We hope to continue our excellence in the freshwater aquarium arena and give our customers another outlet for their creative talents!

We have thousands of gallons of natural saltwater circulating in RK2 display stands, 6 foot tall protein skimmer, sand filter, VHO lighting, UV sterilization and ozone. With this new system we'll be able to keep healthy fish, corals and other inverts for you to bring home. As always we want to do this the "right" way so will be breaking in the system slowly by adding inhabitants occasionally just as you would in the home reef system. Come check it out!

We hope that this page will be a place for us to share with you what is going on with the store and let you know what's new and just arrived from exotic locales. In addition we hope to hear from you in person or over the web what you would like to see or special requests, and how we can better meet your every aquarium needs.

Albany Aquarium is currently celebrating our 31st anniversary at the same location. From the begining, we have been dedicated to bringing only the healthiest and widest variety of fish and aquatic plants to the San Francisco Bay Area. We are known as THE place to go for aquatic plants and THE ONLY place that fully quarantines ALL livestock for up to a month. This means our fish are eating well, disease free, colorful, happy and ready for you to take home!
