We work hard to offer the healthiest fish in the Bay Area. We are the only store in the bay area that separately quarantines all new fish arrivals before we make them available for purchase. Come in to our store and see for yourself.
We are pleased to include a bit more information on these featured fish. We hope you'll find it informative and we encourage you to come in and see our fish for yourself.
Purple Passion Danio (Danio roseus)
Gleaming purple / lavender body that blends into shades of orange towards its belly. Active fish like these are good to add energy to your tank, drawing out shyer fish. Can be a jumper; covered aquarium is best. Like most danios, it is most comfortable and peaceful when kept in schools of 5 or more.
Glowlight Danio (Danio choprai)
Wonderfully colorful fish discovered in 1997 in Myanmar and only recently available in the U.S. through captive breeding. Brilliantly colored fish with handsome vertical stripes and fins trimmed with gold highlights. Can be a jumper; covered aquarium is best. A peaceful fish but can be a bit shy and is happiest in schools of 5 or more.
Dwarf Spotted Loach (Botia sidthimunki)
FINALLY, the famed dwarf loach is here! We’re one of the few stores in the U.S. that have them. Loves company, grows to only about 1.75". Excellent for the planted aquarium. Long lived, peaceful and will keep snail population in check.
Sumo Loach (Schistura cf. balteata)
Cute, small, and colorful loach. Vertical bands over the middle leads to the "Sumo" name. Hardy and peaceful scavenger. Removes left-over foods, keeping them from spoiling and fouling the water. Enjoys a good current with higher oxygen content.
Signifer Rainbow (Schistura cf. balteata)
Less commonly available rainbow. Blue eyes and strikingly shaped yellow/black fins on this recently discovered rainbow from Australia. Great community aquarium fish.
Crystal Red Shrimp (Caridina cf. cantonensis)
Tank-raised, beautiful, algae-eating fresh water shrimp! Red & White alternating bands, much like a marine shrimp. Provide natural hiding and foraging places like moss-covered driftwood/rocks and lots of smaller plants. These shrimp are breeding in our store tanks. Breed your own unique pattern! Unique color variations through hobbyist selective breeding are sold for thousands of dollars at auction.
